The head of the Telebras Frederico SiQueira Filho should be the new holder of the Ministry of Communications. He met President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Wednesday (23), in Blanco, accompanied by the former volume minister, Juscelino Filho (Union-MA). Earlier, Lula Senate David Alculomberbberry, who led Frederico’s nomination, known as “Farid”.
According to the sources he heard by CNN, the president accepted the appointment and must achieve the name Sekira later this week.
SiQueira has been run to Telebras since May 2023, which was appointed by Juscelino. After Pedro Lucas Fernandez, the party leader in the House of Representatives, Alcolumbre sought a technical name for this position.
With 26 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, Friedricho is a civilian engineer who graduated from the University of Bernamboko. He worked for 21 years in OI, where he was the director of institutional relations for a decade. Recently, it heads the corporate sales zone in the OI Soluções government, with a focus on the northern and northeastern regions.

Frederico’s choice occurs after Pedro Lucas, who was previously invited to Lula and was officially announced after a meeting at Alfrada Palace.
However, last Tuesday (22), announced that he would not accept this position. In a statement, he thanked the invitation and stated that “the confidence deposited in my name is to Mustani in a special way and will not be forgotten.”
According to CNN, UNIãO members were afraid that Pedro Lucas’s departure to the government would open a more compatible parliament with Planalto to take the leadership of the seat. Therefore, rejection was seen as a way to maintain the cohesion of the opposition group within the party.
The Ministry of Communications has been vacant since early April, when Juscelino Filho left his position after the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PGR) condemned it on suspicion of distorting parliamentary amendments. He resumed his mandate as a federal deputy.
