Shivraj Singh Chauhan India, Minister of Central Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development in India, headed by Central Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Rural Development at the third Bimstech Agriculture Minister of Agriculture (BAM) in Kathmandu, Nepal. “Agriculture and Food Security” are one of the main areas of Pimstec’s cooperation. This is the third meeting of Bam, the highest decision -making organization that designed regional agricultural cooperation. The first Palm was held in Myanmar, July 12, 2019, followed by the second Palm in India on November 10, 2022. During the third palm, the Ministers of Agriculture discussed the ways and methods of providing more speed to the PIMSTEC agriculture sector, including fisheries and livestock cooperation.
Agriculture Minister Chauhan said that PIMSTEC is a natural way to India to carry out the major foreign policy of ‘the first of the neighbors’ and ‘Eastern Policy’. The ability to connect south and southeast Asia has Pimstec. We have shared history and rich cultural heritage, which makes us natural partners.

He said that India reiterates its commitment to strengthen agricultural cooperation within Pimstuck and that India has taken the initiative under the Pimstech Agricultural Cooperation (2023-2027) by organizing training and workshops in the seed development, animal hygiene and pest management sectors.

The best bimstec center
India has proposed to establish the Pimstec Great Center for Agricultural Cooperation in India to further strengthen the cooperation between the PIMSTEC countries. The center plays an important role in resolving and implementing various obligations of Pimstec in agriculture and its relevant sectors.
This center will focus on accurate agriculture, reduced climate risk, natural agriculture, gender equality and artificial intelligence. It will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and skills in developing technologies, including drones, to ensure food safety, nutrition and livelihood safety in the region.
Calling to come to India for member states
Union Minister Shivraj Singh said the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit announced the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit in December 2024, saying that Union Minister Shivraj Singh said it would bring together entertainment, creativity and cultural world. This content serves as the main platform for creativity for creators and technical innovations, which simplifies knowledge exchange. The event takes place in Mumbai during May 1-4 2025, and urged the Bimstek member states to participate in this mega event. Shivraj Singh thanked the leaders of the PIMSTEC for the efforts of the 6th PIMSTEC summit for effective implementing the action plan to strengthen the PIMSTEC agricultural cooperation (2023-2027).
He thanked the instructions for the development of livestock to improve the livelihood of those in the region, increase the cooperation of the aquarium and to ensure food safety. Cha Au Han, insisted, decided to be the center of our efforts to create food safety, climate adaptation and stable agriculture in the Pimstech region, and reiterated India’s commitment to these efforts.
