According to a recent report, the earnings of the grain -based ethanol can increase the income of Indian farmers by up to Rs 35,000 crore. The report was produced by the Crane Ethanan Manufacturers Association and Primus Partners, introduced during a round schedule conference in Delhi this week.

The remaining grains benefit

The report states that the remaining grains such as maize and broken rice can be made from about 165 lakh tonnes of grains annually. Because of this, farmers can earn up to Rs 35,000 crore directly.

Ethanol

Not only does Ethanan increase the income of farmers, but it also plays an important role in the struggle against the country’s energy safety, rural development and climate change. India has shown the target of ethanol mixture before time. The target of 10% of the mixture in 2022 was completed before the time of the time, and it has now been raised to about 20% by January 2025.

Ethanol is the best for the environment

In the H report, maize is described as the most appropriate crop because it is useful for low water consumption and ethanol. The use of ethanol has so far saved foreign currency Rs 1.08 lakh crore, 185 lakh tonnes of crude oil has been replaced and 557 lakh tonnes of CO2 has been reduced.

There are also challenges in front

However, this sector also faces some challenges. As:

  • Rising prices of maize
  • Competition between different states
  • Lack of transparency in adjusting ethanol prices
  • Profit decline for distillers

Some suggestions have also been made in the report to solve these problems:

  • Peace
  • Determine ethanol in accordance with maize price
  • Until maize production is increased until the FCI provides surplus rice
  • Ethanol supplies such as DDGS (dry soluble grains) strengthen the domestic market

The clear news of the report is that if the government and the industry work together, the grain -based ethanol can increase the income of farmers, but can significantly contribute to India’s self -changing.
