The Trump Tower in Damascus, which is a swelling with Israel and Syria to reach oil and gas, is part of the strategy of the Syrian leader, Ahmed Al -Sharra, to try to obtain a personal meeting with US President Donald Trump during his trip to the Middle East, according to various sources familiar to the initiative.

Jonathan Bass-an American activist of Trump, who met on April 30, was four hours in Damascus, along with the Syrian activists and the Arab states in the Gulf-who were trying to organize a historic meeting, albeit very unlikely among the two leaders this week. The meeting will be on the sidelines of Trump’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

“He told me that he wanted Trump tower in Damascus,” he said. “He wants peace with his neighbors. What he told me is good for the region, good for Israel,” Bass said.

Syria has struggled to implement Washington’s circumstances to alleviate the US sanctions, which maintain the country isolated from the global financial system and make economic recovery very difficult after 14 years of war.

Bass is expected to put Trump in a room with Shara, who is still a terrorist who has been appointed by the United States because of his past in Al Qaeda, can help alleviate the Republican President’s thought and government on apricots, and still increases the increasingly strained relationship between Syria and Israel.

Part of the effort is based on Trump’s history to break the previous taboos of US foreign policy, as when he met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the region of North Korea and South Korea in 2019.

“Shara wants a commercial agreement for the future of her country,” Bass said, noting that the agreement can cover the exploitation of energy and cooperation against Iran and Israel.

Bass said that Shara also shared what I saw in a personal link with Trump: Both were fired and fascinated by attempts to kill.

The Syrian authorities and the presidential media employee did not respond to the comment.

Shara spoke to the ruler of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the heir Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday, according to the Syrian presidency.

A person near Shara later said that a meeting between Trump and Cara was still possible in Saudi Arabia, but he did not confirm whether the Syrian leader had received an invitation.

“If the meeting happens or not, we will only know at the last minute,” the source said.

A meeting between Trump and Carad during the US President’s visit to the region is seen as unlikely, given the Trump crowded agenda, his priorities and the lack of consensus within the team on how to deal with Syria.

A source familiar with the ongoing efforts said that a high -level meeting between Syria and the United States was scheduled to be held in the region during the week of Trump’s visit, but it will not be between the President and Shara.

“There is definitely a constant effort,” said Charles Le Teterster, head of the Syrian initiative at the Middle East Institute.

“The idea is that coming directly to Trump is the best way, because there are many ideologies within the government that must be overcome.”

Three sources, including an American authority familiar with the formulation of politics, said that Washington still needs to formulate and clarify a coherent policy for Syria, but the government has increasingly witnessed relations with Damascus from the anti -terrorist perspective.

This approach was clarified through the formation of the American delegation at a meeting last month between Washington and the Syrian Foreign Minister, Assad Al -Shabani in New York, who included a senior anti -terrorist employee from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the two sources.

The sources said that US officials informed Shaibani that Washington considered the measures taken by insufficient apartments, especially with regard to the requirements of the United States to remove foreign fighters from high positions in the army and expel the largest possible number of them.

Since then, the US Treasury has transferred its own demands to the Syrian government, and raised the number of conditions to more than ten, according to one of the sources.

The US State Department refused to reveal the one who attended the meeting on the American side and said it did not comment on special diplomatic discussions.

The National Security Council spokesman at the White House, James Hoyette, said that the actions of the Syrian authorities in two intends will determine the future support of the United States or thwart possible sanctions.
