Data appears from the annual report submitted by the Rossing Center, an religious organization based in Jerusalem that enhances a comprehensive society for all religious and ethnic groups.

On Monday, March 31, 2025, the annual report on attacks against Christians on the Holy Land in Jerusalem was presented.

Prepared before Rosenj CenterOrganization for Peace and Dialogue between Religions that monitors for years an escalation of violence against Christians who live in Israel and Palestine through the JCJCR program (Jerusalem Center for Relationships of Jewo Christian, because of its abbreviation in English).

In 2024, 111 attacks or violence were recorded against Christians, including, among other things, attacks against clergy. Most of the attacks were directed against individuals, but in 35 cases of sabotage against churches, monasteries and general religious signs.

In almost all cases, the authors of the super young Jews belonging to the groups of religious national extremism were.

It encouraged the increasing influence of national religious extremism in the Israeli government’s policy on a climate of the constant threat of religious minorities, especially for Christians.

In a poll conducted Rosenj Center, 48 % of young Christians under the age of 30 claimed that they were considering the possibility of abandoning the region and immigration.

About 77 % of them announced that the main cause is the increasing discrimination and violence suffered by Christians, as well as the general deterioration of the political social situation.

A section of the report analyzes the general statistics of the Central Statistics Office of Israel. In 2024, the population of Israel reached 10 million. Among these are 7.7 million Jews and 2.1 million Arabs.

Christians who live in Israel are only 180,000, including 80 % of Arabs. Arab Christians represent 7 % of the total Arab population in Israel.

Jerusalem hosts 591,000 Jews, which represents 61 % of the population, while the Arabs are 385,000. Of these, only 13,000 are Christians, which means that the percentage between Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem is 96 % to 4 %.

Compared to the previous year, the Jewish population grew half a percentage point, while the Arab population decreased in the same margin, in line with the current “Judaism” of the city promoted by the government.

The Israeli government is currently agreeing to a plan for the new Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem, which includes the construction of about 11,500 new homes.

At the same time, 29 % of the population of the Holy City defines themselves “Orthodox Jews”, which means that they now represent more than half of the Jewish population in Jerusalem.

These trends, most notably the Rossing Center analysts, indicate the deliberate and progressive Judaism of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.

This trend found its legal framework in the so -called “basic law” (Israel has no constitution, but about twenty basic laws known as basic laws), specifically the basic law of 2018 on “Israel as a state of the Jewish people.”

This law was a decrease in totalitarianism compared to the 1992 basic law, which was the most prominent nickname “human dignity and freedom”.

The 2018 Basic Law had limited effects, but it provides a framework for the division of the population – by dividing citizens in citizens of the first and second degrees – which may be inspiring the climate of violence committed by extremist factions.

Another case indicates the tax system applied to “minority” religious confessions, which are only granted exemptions to places of worship, but not for schools, youth centers or pilgrim shelters.

Many judicial litigation are open between municipal authorities and Christian societies, especially the custody of the Holy Land. The same applies to property rights.

The last issue that places Christians from the Holy Land, especially in Galilee and the North, in a state of extreme difficulty is to extend the violence associated with organized crime, which is rooted in part of the Arab population.

Only last year, the mafia activity led to about 230 murders. Christians in these areas, peaceful and respected by the law, are subject to another source of tensions and difficulties.
