Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana has said that the state government will buy a cereal wheat at minimum support price (MSP). The Minister of Agriculture on Friday spoke to the farmers after visiting the grain mandice in Kurukshetra and the village of Naijadu village in Kurnel district. He reviewed the purchase process of the Rabbi crop and spoke directly with the farmers.
Speaking to the farmers in Mundies, the Minister of Agriculture accepted the comments on procurement work and advised the authorities to buy the purchase process with any barrier and full transparency. He said, “I have advised to maintain performance and transparency for all the relevant sectors. With this, the work is underway. It will intensify in the coming days.”
Purchase will continue without interruption
Since April 1, the government has purchased 37.72 lakh tonnes of wheat, of which 11 lakh million tonnes have been removed, the Agriculture Minister said. He said that procurement work would continue without any interruption and that he would go to the place and monitor the situation.
He said that wheat has been purchased from more than 2 lakh farmers so far and Rs 1,400 crore has been sent directly to their bank accounts. As of April 17 last year, about 25 million tonnes of wheat was purchased, and this time the number has already increased significantly.
These government agencies buy mustard
Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana also inquired about the purchase process of mustard. After this, he announced that the purchase of mustard for Rabbi Purchase 2025-26 has begun from March 15. The work is done by two government companies, Hafeet and Haryana Warehouse.
Until April 16, 4.93 lakh metric tonnes of mustard had been purchased and even 3.40 lakh metric tonnes had been removed. So far, about 1.71 lakh mustard producer farmers have benefited from this process, and about Rs 1,843 crore has been sent in their accounts by DPD.
The government will buy every grain of wheat
Shyam Singh Rana reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of the peasantry and said, “We will ensure that there is no problem with any farmer in selling his crop.” Each grain of wheat and mustard is purchased at the support price.
