The Bharatiya Kisan Sangam (PKS), a farmer’s organization associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Society, has called for immediate ban on the sale of different weed weeds. PKS says the continuous sale of this chemical is “free cancer service” and a serious threat to the health of the people.

Blind use of glyphosette

PKS said in a statement that the use of glyphosette in the agricultural sector was banned but its use did not diminish. The result is now visible in the health of farmers and consumers. The report also stated that the use of glyphosette is increasing cancer, heart disease, skin allergies and severe digestive diseases.

Agricultural scientists appeal

Jabalpur Jabalpur Jabalpur Agricultural Scientists have written to the Madhya Pradesh government to refer to the side effects of the glyphosette, according to PKS. Scientists have emphasized the needs of prohibiting the use of this chemical. In this regard, the PKS has appealed to the Indian Ministry of Agriculture to investigate the matter.

Already prohibited glyphosate

PKS General Secretary Mohini Mohan Mishra said the union agriculture ministry has banned the glyphosate on October 2022, but despite this ban, weeds are sold to farmers. He questioned how it was sold and why it was not prohibited when its use was banned. According to the order of the Ministry of Agriculture, the glyphosate can only be used only by paste control operators.

Glyphosette and environmental threat

The PKS says that glyphosette is dangerous not only for humans but also the environment. This chemical can produce water, soil and air poison and damage biodiversity. When the chemical is sold to farmers, the organization accused it to blame them for its dangerous consequences.

Glyphosate application in India

The use of glyphosets in India is still going on in many areas, although it is allowed to be used only in non -homosexual areas near tea gardens and tea plantations. By 2020, the federal government proposed to ban this chemical, but even for more than two years, it has not been implemented. At the same time, states like Kerala and Telangana have already banned the chemical.

35 countries around the world have banned the use of glyphosate, while it continues to be used in India. Special attention should be paid to this so that it does not threaten the health of farmers and consumers.
