On Friday (18), Al -Ful in the African Elephant arrived at the Brazilian elephant (SEB), in Chapada Doss Gouvars, in Matto Grosso. Elephanta came from Ecoparque de Buenos Aires, on a 2700 km trip, made in five days. Pupe left Argentina on Monday (14).

Upon arrival at the new house, it took nine in the morning to leave the transport box. According to the haven, this is part of the animal air conditioning and each elephant has its time. “The SEB is very much able to the animal well and everything is done in their time.”

PUPY opened the new habitat for African females, which has an area of ​​51,000 square meters, with about five hectares, divided into five regions. SEB said: “Now PuPy Elephant will have an opportunity to live in a spacious and natural environment, with the other elephants.”

Currently, PUPY is waiting for a new elephant of the same type, Kenya, which will soon come to the sanctuary. Both will divide the same habitats. Its population is only 40,000 around the world, and this is considered endangered species.

The other residents of the sanctuary are Asian elephants, called Rana, Maya, Maara, Bambi and Gillerna. However, it cannot be in the same area of ​​the veil for behavioral reasons. “This also happens in nature,” says Seeb.

The puppy is 36 years old and was born in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. It was moved to the Buenos Aires Zoo, where it lived for 30 years alongside the Cookie elephant, who died in October 2024.

Another elephant from Ecoparque de Buenos Aires was also transferred in May 2020. Transport operations are the end of families in Argentina.

The Buenos Aires Zoo is in the process of turning to become an original center for preserving wildlife. Since 2016, the zoo has been allocated to transport its animals to reserves and reserves, and to determine the priorities of animal care and the preservation of local species.
