The Yogi government has decided to follow a strict approach to non -payment mills. In this line, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the order allocated to the sugarcane to the sugarcane should be determined based on the registration of sugarcane prices paid to the farmers. The government is committed to ensuring that the farmers get time. He said that there would be a stricture against those who pay late or plants. The Chief Minister presented these steps during a review of the Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Department. At the meeting, the department was given information on sugarcane prices, productivity, infrastructure, employment and future plans.
Farmers, KVK, sugar mills and groups make joint ventures
Chief Minister Yogi said that it is necessary to ensure that the seeds of advanced seeds should be made available in a timely manner for the best sugarcane yield. For this, Krishi Vijian Kendras (KVK), sugar mills and sugarcane groups will have to work together. Plant representatives, group officials and KVK officials should go to the fields and take care of the crop and maintain standard communications with the farmers. Also, the participation of ministers in the farmer seminars should be ensured. He also expressed the need to strengthen sugarcane groups.
Will be reviewed by co -operatives and federation mills
The Chief Minister said the need to increase the current 142 working days to 155 days, along with the cooperative and the sugar mills of the federation. According to the Chief Minister’s instructions, with the ability of these plants and the qualifications of the employees who work there will be evaluated.
Payment of 85 2,85,994 crore in the last 8 years
During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Milwar also reviewed the status of renewed sugarcane prices. During the current government’s tenure, 82,85,994 crore has been paid so far, which in 1995-2017, 72,474 crore over Rs 4 2,13,520 crore. The nominated for 2024-25, 434,466.22 crore, 83.8%, ie 28,873.55 crore. The Chief Minister advised all the farmers to get the full fee soon.
Production and productivity is doubled
In 2016-17, the sugarcane area was reported to be 20.54 lakh hectares in 2016-17, which increased to 29.51 lakh hectares in 2024-25. During the same period, productivity reached 84.10 tonnes/ha from 72.38 tonnes/ha. Chief Minister Yogi said there is every chance to increase production and productivity in Uttar Pradesh if planned efforts are made. He described the government’s priority of transparency, time and technical inventions for the benefit of sugarcane farmers, and advised all the concerned efforts to make the necessary efforts in this direction.
9.81 lakh people got a job
At the meeting, 122 sugar mills operate in 45 districts of the state, 236 continental units, 8,707 crusher units, 65 kogen units and 44 distilled units are active, which have a total of 7,856kg. 9.81 lakh people get direct employment from these units.
150.39 million liter of ethanol
In the context of ethanol production, it is INF, and a 105.65 crore liter production capacity has been installed from private investment at a cost of Rs 6,771.87 crore. The Chief Minister described this initiative as an increase in energy safety and farmers’ income, and advised to implement projects to increase ethanol in fuel mixture.
