Many things! Jesus calls Simon among people, not separating him from people. He was full of people and preaches Jesus, and people will listen to Jesus because they thirst for the word of God. Jesus speaks as those who have authority.

The first thing, Jesus always invites his priests from the city, in the city center. If Peter forgot his origin, he betrayed Jesus’ plan, he would have established the elite. no! The priest should be with sheep. This is what the priest is.

Second, the signs that Jesus make, not only the authority of his word. To trust him, he does that wonderful miracle, and no one expects it. Where Jesus feels his strength; And Pedro, when he doubts, when he does not have strength, he will remember this, from the miracle, that the Lord is able to change things.

What does Peter do when Jesus sees this? He kneels in front of him, does not feel anything, modest, admits that he is limited, and that he is wrong: “Get me, O Lord, that I am wrong.” There, Jesus reaches where he wants to get it.

Peter’s path is to be with people to listen to the Lord. Go out to fish according to the command of the Lord and do that miracle. He had put it as a support stone. And Peter makes this recognition of faith, he plays all. Let us put ourselves in the place of telling someone: “You are neither evidence nor Menjano, you are God, the son of God.” If I say today to someone, they take him to asylum, they say it is a bad head. Peter is surprised by Jesus: “This has been revealed.” Then Jesus says, “Well, but I know that I am now going to Jerusalem and there is waiting for me.

It is sometimes difficult to face the challenges and attacks of the secular world, but I am sure it is painful to face the attacks at home. This says: “You are Pedro.” The word of God says, you are now the successor of Peter, and even if all these attacks come, the forces will not prevail.

What forces say they will not prevail? What does Jesus say?

Evil forces.

From evil from hell! That is, when hope is placed in the revelation of the Father or the choice of Jesus, but in other media, for example, for example. “We are fine because we have money.” Imagine a priest, a bishop saying: “Our church is going well, we have put people who give us money and go.” Do not put hope there because you will collapse. They are the forces of hell, they are not the power of the father’s revelation.

There is another writing in which the Lord confirms, it is John 21: “Peter’s sadness is that for the third time I asked him if he loves him, and he said:“ O Lord, you know everything; You know that I love you. ”Jesus said:“ I am your sheep. (Juan 21.17-18).

It was confirmation and promise. Peter promised when he admitted, that the gates of hell would not prevail, and that he would be firm while he was in the stone. Here it is confirmed three times. It is interesting, as when Peter admitted that Jesus was the Son of God -the power of the Holy Spirit made him admit that he loses his orientation. And when Jesus talks about the cross, he tries to persuade him. Pedro, falls into a worldly idea and the same happens here. Jesus tells him that, he accepts, (Peter) turns and sees John: “And then, oh, because he is. What will happen to this?” It is the gossip Pedro, Peter, who at that moment forgets what the Lord spoke to a gossip about another person.

We are like this, but the Lord takes care of us with his strength, even when we have to go to martyrdom, accompanying us with his hand. And talking about the testimony, I would like to talk about today’s martyrs. There are martyrs today more than the beginning of the church. Christian martyrs, the martyrs who bears just being Christian their heads and recognize Jesus. The martyrs who are in prison for the confession of Jesus. They are our brothers! It is the Church of the Martyrs. This is what triumphs, not the church with silver in banks. This is the one who triumphs, from the martyrs, and the testimony of martyrdom. Because martyrdom means testimony. I mentioned those who give life, but that man, the woman who works every day to educate her children in Christian life and testimonies, is a martyr. “No, father, what would be a martyr if they don’t kill him.” No, mártir means the witness! The testimony is a testimony, which is the translation of the Greek word. Any witness about Jesus is the martyr, that is, a testimony. This implements the church as well.
