The Sao Paulo Military Police plans to place 3000 new cameras on police vehicles, equipped with a technology to read and learn about vehicle boards and fleeing fugitives.
According to the Commander of the Prime Minister, Colonel Cássio Araújo de Freitas, the goal is to enhance the MURALha Paulista program, which uses cameras to recognize stolen vehicles and identity from justice by integrating cameras with databases, using artificial intelligence.
The focus is on improving patrols in the streets, ensuring more lighting police officers in response to the cases of stolen vehicles and motorcycles and picking criminals who fled from convictions to prison.
The use of technology already with fixed cameras, especially on highways that reduced the country. Paulista Wall aims to protect the state of Sao Paulo from entering criminals who use cars or motorcycles stolen to commit crimes. However, the number of devices is still not sufficient for a full process, in all “entries” of Sao Paulo.
The Public Security Secretariat has concluded agreements with the municipalities to use municipal cameras, and to share the state information database for criminals.
Another bet to improve crime control in a “regional” way is to build operating rooms in all military police brigades by the state. The goal is to improve the “regional squares” of PM to better monitor illegal activities and reduce the time of response to accidents over 190.
