In order to evaluate the real-time production of different agricultural products, the government aims to cover all states under the Digital Crop Survey (TCS) in the next Carif season (2025-26). This will later replace the manual Patwari-Kardavari system, and provide information on yield evaluation by collecting crop information directly from the farm to the real-time. In this, information on crops will be collected directly from the fields by mobile fields, and there is no need to go to the fields.

Digital crop survey can be created an accurate assessment of yields, as effects are now found in prices due to different ratings. If the assessment of a crop is reduced, its prices will increase. Such market fluctuations can help the digital crop survey. In this survey, with the help of remote sensitivity, geo analysis and artificial intelligence, the assistance of the technology that is achieved by the accurate product data of the crops is achieved.

The survey work has begun in these states

Under the TCs, the survey has been launched in 485 districts of 15 states during the current crop year (2024-25). The survey is conducted by separate digital applications launched under the Digital Agricultural Mission of the Ministry of Agriculture at Rs 2,817 crore. According to an official note, the data of the crop survey will help government agencies to implement other activities such as the minimum support price (MSP) -based purchase, crop insurance and credit card related crop credit and fertilizer.
