On Wednesday (29), the Special Adviser to the International Presidency of the Republic criticized the escalation of the trade war between countries and affirming the commitment of Brazil to multiple parties.

Amorim said: “The warfare war threatens to die the multilateral trade system. Global production chains are in serious risks, which generates uncertainty that affect income expectations and the prosperity of our residents.”

The statement was made during the opening of the Brics National Security Adviss meeting, which was held at the ITAMARATY Palace in Brazilia.

Amorim’s speech occurs amid the intensification of trade tensions between the United States and China, which announces the revenge definitions between the two largest economies in the world in recent weeks.

The presidential advisor strengthened the Brazilian government’s position in favor of international cooperation as a way to confront difficulties.

Amorim added: “We cannot retreat as negotiations have mostly occurred bilateral. Despite the risks and difficulties, we continue to bet on pluralism,” Amorim added.

Brix defends the multiplicity of poles

During his opening speech, Amorim indicated that the BRICS is entering a new stage and must enhance pluralism and prevent the unstable international system.

The counselor said: “In this new stage of the BRICS, we must work so that pluralism depends on the multiplicity of real parties. We do not want to retreat from a chaotic international system. We also do not care about a unipolar world, and we do not want a new cold war.”

According to Amorim, the group seeks to build a “new multi -poles” that depends on international law, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence between nations.
