Brazil was ranked third in a global rating that ranked the average download speed in 5G. The report this week by international consultations open the country before technological powers such as the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom and Taiwan.
The study analyzed 137 countries during the fourth quarter of 2024. OpenSignal concluded that Brazil is also among the positive outstanding points about the speed of downloading 5G between the great regional extension countries.
For the Minister of Communications, Juscelino Filho, good performance is the result of the decision to adopt a model known as the pure 5G (independent), which uses an independent network, ensuring increased efficiency and speed. This approach is different from the mixed 5G model, which benefits from part of the 4G infrastructure and frequencies.
To enable implementation, it was necessary to clean the 3.5 GHz range, a process conducted by the administrative entity of the path (EAF). It was created after the 5G auction and the CLARO, TIM and VIVO, EAF coordinating the deportation of satellite TV signals into a new frequency range, which led to the release of the spectrum to the new mobile network.
Work involves the distribution of nearly five million free digital groups for families benefiting from social programs. Immigration was expected to be deduced within approximately 14 months in relation to the schedule stipulated in the auction notification, allowing the release of all Brazilian municipalities to activate technology.
“Brazil is preparing for an increasingly linked future, with positive effects on industrial production, agricultural business and basic services,” says Minister Juscelino Fileho.
