Special Adviser for International Masses of the Presidency of the Republic, Silo Amorim, said on Wednesday (30) that political polarization has exacerbated due to the publication of wrong information on social networks and that this stimulates the movements of the extreme right.
He said, “The political polarization in many countries is exacerbated by the wrong information that spreads through social networks and stimulates the movements of the extreme right. It is necessary to restore confidence in democracy and reform the stroke of the social fabric.”
The statement was made during the opening of the Brics National Security Adviss meeting, which was held at the ITAMARATY Palace in Brazilia.
The former Brazilian counselor also highlighted the need for large technology companies to respect national sovereignty.
He added: “Large technology companies cannot respect the sovereignty of countries on a false pretext to defend freedom of expression.”
Using artificial intelligence

“The capabilities of artificial intelligence in order to advance humanity are enormous. But its use for military purposes is really a fact. Brazil argues that its use must respect international law, especially humanitarian law.”

He concluded by saying: “Human supervision of the use of independent weapons is essential to avoid biases and errors. The responsibility for the death of innocents to machines cannot be transferred.”
