Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan held a weekly review meeting in Delhi today on the progress of the entire agriculture sector. Shivraj Singh provided the necessary guidelines to the departmental authorities to review the total and retail values of the production, from the senior officials at the meeting and to review the harvest, sowing and procurement. The meeting was attended by Central Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi and other senior officials.
Purchase of crops fully- Shivraj
Considering the possibility of the good yield of different products, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan advised the authorities to make such arrangements for farmers to buy and crops. During the summer sowing season, paddy sowing has recorded 4.65 lakh hectares compared to the previous year, which increased from 27.33 lakh hectares to 31.98 lakh hectares. The area of Mong and fertilizer has increased by 1.65 lakh hectares and 0.61 lakh hectares respectively. The main states for wheat are Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Bihar, in which the harvest situation is best.
Crop in maturity phase in all states
Today, the crop has crossed the maturity stage in all states. In such a situation, as of April 4, 2025, 52.40 lakh hectares planted under summer crops during the same period last year were 60.22 lakh hectares. Of this, the area sown under rice was 31.98 lakh hectares, which was 27.33 lakh hectares last year.
The Agriculture Minister inquired about the harvest
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also taken information on harvesting from officials, according to the area of 58.71 per cent of Rabbi sowing, 58.71 per cent on April 4. 69.40% of Sri food and rough grains is mainly 95%; 87.02%of oil seeds, mainly rapseed and 90%of mustard; 38% of wheat and 32.93% of paddy are harvested. In addition, Union Minister Shivraj Singh officials should ensure that the farmers get adequate inputs, in which the status of all fertilizers is sufficient at the meeting.
