This method is expected to break the country’s grain production record and increase good monsoon yields

This year, good monsoon rains are expected in most parts of the country. The government, which rely on the forecast of good rainfall, is aimed at producing 3540 lakh tonnes of food grain per year (July-June) 2025-26, which is 4 per cent higher than the 2024-25 target and 6.5 per cent higher than the real production of 2023-24. Say that food grains include paddy, wheat, coarse grains and legumes. During the National Conference organized by the Carib Campaign, the target was set after the recommendations from all states, where the government and agricultural scientists discussed the availability of arrangements and adequate input (such as quality seeds and fertilizers) before the sowing season.

The main role of the monsoon in the increase in production

The IMT predicts that in most parts of the country last month, in most parts of the country, including the ‘rainy season’, which rely on the seasonal rainfall. In such a situation, good monsoon rains (June-September) always help farmers get the product of bumper production. Speaking at the conference, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chauhan announced the All India 15 -day campaign (May 29) to raise awareness of rainy season and government programs in 1-1.5 crore farmers in 700 districts.

Farmers and agricultural scientists work together

Agriculture Minister Chauhan said, “During the campaign, agricultural scientists and officials will be among the farmers. There are 16,000 agricultural scientists in India, farmers and scientists have to work together.” He said the central government would consider the amendment of the Seed Act, 1966, to sell fake seeds, identify seeds and protect the interests of farmers. Under the All India Awareness Campaign, the center will form 2,000 groups of agricultural scientists and progressive farmers with states.

Standard increase in food production

Shivraj Singh said the total food sector increased by 3.8 per cent compared to last year, with the main growth of rice and maize. By 2024, the total food production increased by 6.81 per cent compared to the production of Carib 2024 last year, including high production in crops such as rice, maize and Jovar. Despite the opposite climate conditions, our food production continues to increase, he said.
