Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised President Donald Trump on Saturday, so he said he was better than any other Western leader on the conflict in Ukraine.
“When we talk about eliminating the deep causes of any conflict, including the Ukrainian conflict, this is the only way to solve the problem and create a permanent peace. I take out the deep causes,” Lavrov said at the Initalia Diplomacy Forum in southern Turkey.

President Vladimir Putin, who launched Ukraine’s invasion of Russia in February 2022, has long been considered Ukraine to the West, including his desire to join NATO, a threat to Russia.
Lavrov’s comments occurred after talks in Saint Petersburg on Friday (11) between Putin and Trump’s private envoySteve Witkev for the search for the peace agreement.
Witkoff appeared as a major figure in intermittent rapprochement between Moscow and Washington. Commenting on an agreement between Ukraine and Russia to suspend attacks on energy facilities for each other, Lavrov said that Moscow kept his word and Kyiv was accused of attacking the Russian energy infrastructure almost every day.
