The Public Security Committee of the House of Representatives approved a draft law that allows the court to decide to custody of the prisoners accused again in the law after his release in the detention session.

If approved, it will be sent to the plenary session. To become a law, the proposal still needs to go to the Senate and its contract by the President of the Republic.
Preventive detention is a precautionary procedure issued by a judge before the final sentence, with the aim of ensuring the progress of criminal procedures, avoiding the escape of the accused, preventing investigation or committing new crimes.
The project changes the Criminal Procedure Blog to regulate detention before the trial. The main justification is to prevent the recurrence of crimes by individuals who are already involved in court procedures or with the date of repetition.
The approved text is an alternative to the draft law presented by Domingus Vice Dumingos (PL-MG). The final version, prepared by the decision, PL-RJ, includes measures to enhance the validity of the law.
