Water is a very basic requirement for agriculture for cultivation. It is said that agriculture can wait for everything except water. From the preparation of the farm to the sowing, the water is needed from time to time to suit the needs of a particular crop a few days before the crop is harvested. Since becoming the Chief Minister of UP in March 2017, Yogi Adityanath has focused on the basic amenities of this agriculture. Because of this, there was an expansion of irrigation capabilities in Uttar Pradesh.

Under the Brother’s Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, the three major and most ambitious project canal, the Arjun Aid Scheme and the Ban Sagar Project were dedicated to the public and established a milestone in the state of the state.

A total of 976 projects have been completed so far

In the time of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a total of 976 small and large projects have been completed or introduced. As a result, about 48.32 lakh hectares of additional irrigation capacity was developed in the state. About 185.33 lakh farmers benefited from this. In 2017, the area under the total irrigation area of the state was 82.58 lakh hectares. In eight years, it increased to 133 lakh hectares.

Up is only the state

This is the result of this effort to increase the widespread interest of the farmers, and the crop lid and yield, which are 76 per cent of today’s cultivated land, is irrigated by 86 percent of the total land.

5 lakh hectares of irrigation capacity will be expanded soon

This process is still ongoing, which increases irrigation capacity. The second phase of the Central Ganga Nagar Project, the Kanhar Irrigation Project and the Maharajganj in the Rohin River are a string. Once these projects are completed, about 5 lakh hectares will be created. Also, 7 lakh farmers will benefit from this. Similarly, under the River Joint Project, the thirst of 2.51 lakh hectares of fields of Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda and Pundkand’s Lalitpur will be quenched after the Ken Bedwa connection is over. Also, 21 lakh people get drinking water.

It is noteworthy that the permanent solution of floods and drought is the dream of the late Prime Minister Bihari Vajpayee. On his birthday, on December 25 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone. The Yogi government is also working fast with 90 and 10 percent of the project respectively.

Plans have been pending for decades

1- Fixed Canal National Program

The project was planned in 1971-72. Work on this began in 1978. Earlier it was a project of two districts, and in 1982 it was extended to 9 districts. Due to this, 14.5 lakh hectares of land was irrigated and about 30 lakh farmers from nine districts of the premature. East Uttar Pradesh is estimated to contribute 24 lakh tonnes in food production of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The total length of the large 992 canals included in the project is 6,623 km.

Of these, 290 canals, 2000 km long, from 1978-2017, were completed, while the work of 702 canals was a total of 4,623 km. How much work it was done in four decades and how much work it was done in this project, destroying the difference by data.

2- Arjun Help Scheme

The project started in 2008-2009. Under the Arjun Assistant Dam project, a total of 737 hectares of land was taken to the canal by 2017, while Yogi Adityanath became 1673 hectares after becoming the first. From 2009 to 2012, only 41 km can be built and the canal can be built from 2012-2017 to 14 km, and the canal was built by 189 km from 2017-2021.

The project was spent 337 crores from 2009 to 2012 and 2012-2017 to 553 crore, while the Yogi government has earned Rs. The Arjun Assistant Canal Project provided irrigation facilities for 69,000 hectares of land from the 244 km long canal, which benefited 1.49 lakh farmers.

3- Pan Sagar Project

This project was completed in 2018. Its irrigation capacity is 1.50 lakh hectares. About two lakh farmers benefit from this. The government is also working on other projects to expand irrigation skills during the war. This includes a variety of dimensional projects such as placing new pipe wells, redefining the old, solar pump, check dam and farm pond, Amrit Lake and model Bond, Ganga Talab.
