This Saturday (29), another edition of the Brazilian championship begins.
The competition began to play officially in 1971. But over time, other championships were considered a national championship.
In 2010, the Brazilian Football Association (CBF) recognized conflicts from 1959 (Brazil Cup and Silver Cup) as titles in Brasileirão.
In 2023, the entity also agreed to The 1937 Championship, won by Atletico-m..
The history of the Brazilian championship
In 2023, CBF recognized the 1937 Championship, organized by the Brazilian Football Association (FBF), as the first national professional championship. Thus, ATLETICO-MG, the hero of this year, was recognized as the first hero of Brasileirão.
After that, the current Confederation of Brazilian Sports (CBD) created the current CBF, which was responsible for organizing and organizing all sports, “Brazil Cup” in 1959. The tournament had 16 representatives, and all the state champions in the previous year.
Santos and Bahia made the final of the championship, played in the knockout system. Tricolor De Steel was the great hero. The champion title gave the right to represent Brazil in the current COPA Libertadores de America.
The “Brazil Cup” was followed by the conflict, and in 1967, the Rio Sao Paulo championship was expanded to teams from all over Brazil and was baptized as “Roberto Gomez Pedosa”. The competition was parallel to the Brazil Cup.
Robertao was called the “Silver Cup” in 1968. With extensive media coverage and greater profit capabilities, the tournament has a greater attractiveness among clubs.
In 1971, CDB turned the championship in the national club championship, which will be called in the future as a Brazilian championship.
Federation Cup
In 1987, CBF announced that it was unable to maintain a national championship. The idea, due to the serious economic crisis, was to return with regional games. Thirteen clubs rejected the idea that created their own championship: Federation Cup.
In a joint decision with CBF, “Club 13” organized the Green Unit of the Brazil Cup. CBF was responsible for the yellow stereotype. The proposal was quadruple between heroes and vices for each unit to determine the hero.
Flamengo and Interviewal, the hero and vice-vice of the Green Unit, refused to confront sports and Al-Ghawrani, who were considered champions of the yellow unit after the final match that ended 11-11 in a penalty kick and ended.
Without the green unit clubs, Sport and Guarani returned to the stadium in February 1988, in a new final, which ended with the lion of Champion Island.
However, the conflict ended the 1987 championship in court.
In 1994, the court approved the sports title, but in 2011, CBF, through the presidency, admitted the two clubs, both Flamengo and Sport as heroes.
Despite this understanding of CBF, the legal battle continued. In 2017, STF rejected the appeal submitted by Rubro-Negro and announced sport as the only 1987 champion.
The first Brazilian championship
CBF, which aims to reduce the number of clubs participating in the national championship, established the Brazilian championship. To avoid the disappearance of the least expressed clubs, it has been created Cuba de Brazil.
In 1999, the Brazilian championship adopted a new landing coordination. The four clubs that achieved less points in the 1998 and 1999 championship will decrease to the Italian First Division, however, the idea continued for a year only.
In the first stage, a player from Sao Paulo was registered irregularly. The penalty was to cancel the games in which striker Sandro Hiroshi participated.
Internet and Botafogo won points, and the range was deported. The situation opened the court case and CBF was prevented from organizing the championship.
“Club 13” entered the scene again, which was organized in 2000 the national championship.
The Joao Hufflang Cup consists of 116 teams divided into four units (blue, yellow, green and white). Fluminense and Bahia were invited.
Vasco, from the blue unit, overcame SãO Caetano, from the yellow unit, in the big final.
It was from the operating points
S. The shape of the operating points in Brasileirão was adopted in 2003End the eruptions with a knockout.
The idea was to unify the conflict system, as it is reversed similar to the main championships around the world.
Cruzeiro was the first champion in the “Age of Running Points”. Palmeiras and Corinthians are the largest heroes in this system, winning four titles.
Since 2006, Brasileirão has been waived with 20 clubs.
