In the meantime, however, the central government is preparing to stop the sowing of genetically modified (GM) seeds in India. American farmers cultivate GM and non -Luke. The name ‘Alpalfa’ for Luke is derived from the Arabic word al-Fassfassa. This means ‘the best fodder’.
According to the ‘Business Line’ report, scientists have to create a simple test tool to identify the GM type to prevent entering India, so that it can be explored before taking goods at ports. However, evidence suggested that such kit could be done within a short period of time.
Domestic Lukene seed is cheap
According to the report, the seeds of domestic fodder raised in the skulls are available at Rs 500 to Rs 800 per kg in the market. At the same time, the import tax is high and the seeds to be called from the outside are highly expensive. The central government has imposed a 50.045 per cent effective import duty on Louisen seeds (HS Code 12092100).
Instructions for imports are essential
In addition, it is mandatory to follow the plant safety guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture for the importation of Lukene seeds. Moreover, according to Indian standards for imports, a valid phytosnetary certificate from exporting country is not possible. Now this seed is not imported in India. It is cultivated in the country. Traders say it is not austerity for widespread use due to import duty.
The imports of Parsim were also reduced
Currently, India imports Parsim seeds from Egypt and some CIS countries to use fodder. However, in the last few years, India has reduced the import of these seeds by increasing domestic production. Imports have now arrived at about 500 tonnes per year. Persons connecting to the industry say that Parsim is cheap and has been given priority for the types of imports to be imported to high yielding cars.
