Dr. H.S. According to Singh, this insect was first reported in Puri in 1952. In 1992 it began to expand in Andhra Pradesh. It spread through the coastal area, including Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh. In 2016–17, it was found in the districts of Modihari, Pettiya, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur in North Bihar. Its effect in southern Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh is low.

When will this insect burst
Dr. Singh says that when the flowers come in mangoes, this insect is switching from sleep to adults. Initially, their number is low, but if it is not controlled in a timely manner, their number increases rapidly. This insect affects the fruit from the first stage of ripening.
How to identify
The attacks of this insect can be identified: when a small hole in the lower part of the peas -shaped fruit appears, light water drops emerge in that place, and then they freeze like glue. Insect larvae with red lines penetrate into the lower part of the fruit, and then reach the fruit, then come out of one fruit and pierce the other fruit. These fruits of the younger level are hanging with holes, falling in the latter. At the time of the ripening of the fruit, this insect is active when the bark, leaves or debris, hides, goes smooth and reach the flower next year.
How to prevent farmers
