To celebrate the eighties of Brazilian, the Getúlio Vargas Art (FGV ARTE) and the Brazilian Institute for Development and Research (IDP) were launched on Tuesday (22) the book “Brazilia, the art of democracy”.

Organized by the art critic Paulo Hirkinhof, the work combines experts for arts, architecture, history and politics. The book proposes a reflection on the path of the federal capital.

In addition to glorifying the modern ideal that formed the city, the book deals with the political and cultural expressions that contributed to the building of Brazilia.

The publication honors characters such as Juscelino Kubitschek, Oscar Niemeyer, Athos Bulcão, Darcy Ribeiro and Zanine Caldas, as well as highlighting the crucial moments of Brazilian democracy.

One of the authors who make up the group is the Minister of Supreme Court (STF) and the founder of IDP, Gilmar Mendes. The introduction is signed and separated for the role of the judiciary in preserving democracy.
