Tesla has stopped new orders for Model S and Model X on its Chinese website, according to Reuters examination on Friday (11), while the world’s largest economists exchange commercial strikes.
Both models are manufactured in the United States and are imported in China. New requests for both models are no longer available in the WeChat Mini program in China.
Tesla did not respond immediately to order the comments.
Although the company has not given a reason for change, it happens because China and the United States are immersed in a climbing war. China increased its prices on US imports to 125 % on Friday after President Donald Trump’s decision to increase the rates of Chinese products to 145 %.
The highest US tariff increases the cost of retail for Chinese consumers, making these cars more expensive than locally produced electric vehicles.

Both models are less than 0.5 % of Tesla delivery operations from more than 657,000 vehicles last year.
BYD competition and other local manufacturers also affected the sales of Tesla cars in China.
