A group of 39 Spanish dioceses successfully participate in a study on the institutional transparency, which is carried out by the Independent University of Barcelona (UAB) in cooperation with the Transparency Office at the Spanish Episcopal Conference. The initiative, which was launched during the 2024-2025 session, seeks to evaluate and improve the quality of information provided by the dioceses to society, which reaffirms its commitment to transparency.

More than half agrees, with suspended examples

More than half of the diocese is compatible, with distinct examples such as Bilbao, Cartagina and Solsona, which has made the maximum of 10. The evaluation reveals that the average observation of all the diocese was 6.25, which reflects great progress in church transparency.

The Spanish Episcopal Conference published the news that highlights, according to the officials of the project, the transparency of the dioceses in Spain has improved significantly thanks to their team’s effort.
