Pope Francis and Al -Shabab: A legacy that mills

“The Pope of Mercy and Hope.” Thus, Genesis Martinez, the young delegate in the Caribbean Sea region, defines the Latin American youth, which reflects the legacy of Pope Francis in the heart of Latin American youth and the Caribbean. In an emotional conversation with the Vatican News, Genesis shared his personal testimony after the departure of the first Pope in Latin America in history.

Francisco’s news surprised her in the middle of the holy week, in the state of Falcon, Venezuela. He recalls, “I started crying, I cried a lot that morning,” he recall. “It was very difficult to get this news after celebrating Easter. It was a moment with a sweet taste and bitter.”

But the duel was accompanied by deep gratitude. For Genesis, a graphic designer, Francisco was not only his youth, but a spiritual guide “took her hand and took it again to Jesus.” As he put it, his Argentine back helped reinstall the Church’s view mainly: “Return to the source, to Jesus Christ himself.”

Iman embodiment in life

The Pope’s message fell deep into the youth, specifically because of his ability to talk to them closely, in direct and emotional language. Genesis in particular remember the message addressed to the participants in The twenty -first meeting of national past youth managers in 2024“Wake up at the same time a task and responsibility.” For her, these words were not only inspiring, but were mobilized. “We have believed that we are able to get up and transform our reality.”

Besides speeches, Francisco suggested the church style, depth of people. “First, the person, then the rule,” the Genesis is highlighted as one of the teachings that characterized it. A principle invites you to put the heart forward, to look at the other with mercy and hope.

Church Church, when going out and face a young man

One of the greatest heritage of Bob, according to Genesis, was his ongoing call to build Senodal, Mabshar and “departure”. An invitation, although it was welcomed in the area, is still a suspended challenge. “We need to become more, get out of ourselves, leave comfort and open ourselves to the Holy Spirit.”

Francisco says the ecclesiastical structures of the original dynamics of the Gospel. He says: “It is not just changing ideas, but converting our way to be a church. Living as Jesus lived in the first societies.”

The road is not exempt from obstacles. Attachments to traditions and resisting change and closed structures are part of the panorama. But Genesis sees with Hope a new generation that hosted a more humane, more and open church dream. He says, “I dream of a young church, open doors, adopting everyone.”

Continue inheritance: Four keys for young people

The young woman calls an invitation to her peers in Latin America and the Caribbean Sea region to preserve the spirit of Francisco alive:

1. Learn about the legacy: studying your writing, sermons and actions. “You cannot follow what is unknown.”

2. Open to the Holy Spirit: Trust in the changes that God raises in the church.

3. Return to Jesus: Everything in Francis referred to Christ. “We have returned to love first.”

4. Live with certainty that Christ is alive: a mobilization message and calls for active commitment.

He says with the conviction: “The Pope did not come to please us, but to enter the movement.” He concludes a luminous certainty: “Christ is alive, and he loves us alive. Only we can build the kingdom of God in all of the areas we live.”
