ICAR Genetic Revised Paddy Type: Now the time to sow paddy for the Carif season in India is near. But water consumption in paddy cultivation is a big problem. In such a situation, the government and agricultural scientists insist on the use of such paddy and systems, in which water consumption is low. According to scientists, 2500 liters of water is being consumed to grow in Kopilogram paddy, which has caused ground water level to fall in many states including Punjab and Haryana. Genetic editing is very helpful to provide relief from this problem. For this purpose, ICR and connected companies have created two genetically revised paddy for the first time in the world. First- TRR Paddy 100 (Kamala), Second- Busa DST Rice 1.
20-30 percent can be on yield
According to the Times of India report, these two genetically revised rice stories are capable of bringing a major change in stable agriculture. Agricultural scientists say that if these two varieties are cultivated in 5 million hectares, they can save 4.5 million tonnes of paddy and a total of 7,500 million cubic meters of irrigation. Scientists have said that these varieties can help reduce methane emissions by 20-30 percent.

Busa DST Rice 1
Busa DST Rice 1 has created Delhi’s ICAR-Ii. Scientists have clarified salinity and drought. It mainly keeps farmers in mind near the coastal areas. This type has given good results in various adverse situations. In the event of domestic salinity, there are about 10 per cent of the yield, 15 percent of alkaline soil and 30 per cent of the soil with coastal salt.

In addition, paddy samba and Mahsuri are capable of yielding 19 percent higher than the variety, and its yield is 5.4 tonnes per hectare. In favorable situations, this type is capable of giving 9 tonnes of a hectare yield.
