The city’s first ‘Kisan Bazaar’ has begun in the Vesu of Surat. Especially organic products will be sold here. The market is co -created by the Surat Municipal Corporation and the Surat District Panchayat, which is located near the SD Jain College. Farmers in the market sell their production directly to consumers. The market is open from 8 am to 11 am on Wednesday and Sunday. There are 70 farmers in the market for natural farming.
The market was opened by Governor Acharya Tevira. In this case, “the state government is working to improve public hygiene, maintain the fertility of the soil and protect the environment. The only solution to natural agriculture.” He said the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture would no longer be clean. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently declared the natural farming work as a national work and has allocated Rs 1,481 crore in the central budget to promote the country. In recent times, various exhibitions and temporary markets have been organized at regular intervals for organic materials. With the interest of citizens in mind, a permanent facility has been created to raise awareness.
However, the first city of such an effort is not Surat. In other states, such organic farmer markets are manufactured in many areas.
