Onion prices fall in both of the total and retail markets, so much rate

The total prices in the Washi Agricultural Production Group (ABMC), which offers onions to the Mumbai Metropolitan Area (MMR), fell by 35 to 40 per kg in February to Rs 7 per kg in May. Retail prices have also dropped from Rs 45 to Rs 25 per kg. In some local markets, onions are also available at low cost. So somewhere small retailers are sold at high prices, which are said by retailers.

Onion prices continue to fall

Onion businessman Manohar Dodlani said that the continued arrival and demand for prices could continue to fall. He said the onion prices could fall further in the coming time, because the supply is going on too much.

Ashok Carbe, who was Washi ABMC’s wholesalers, said, “Last year, farmers got the good prices of onion crops. “But the production is almost doubled and the amount of onion is not too much in the market. We get more than 170 vehicles carrying onions every day, while 90 to 100 vehicles usually arrive.”

The recent seasonal rains in rural Maharashtra have forced them to take their saved stocks to protect the farmers from expelled, which has increased the distribution. The main supply comes from Nashik, Ahmednagar, Sangamar and Pune. According to Ashok Corp, the central government dismissed 20% export duty onions in April to help ensure the market.
