Near the end of the wheat harvest

In many states of India, the wheat harvest period is now over. In the place where another farmers get the good prices of wheat, farmers are still waiting for their fees. 84 percent of the wheat purchased in the kernel is grown from the Haryana cereal Mandis. But hundreds of farmers are still waiting for Rs 349 crore. Farmers’ unions have criticized the government as the authorities blame logistics issues for this delay. The unions say the government has withdrawn from the promise of payment at a timely manner.

Who paid how much

According to official data, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has jointly acquired 79,02,150 wheat this season. According to the newspaper The Tribune, the farmers have been distributed at a total of Rs 1,916 crore and Rs 1,567 crore.

The food industry has purchased wheat worth Rs 1,068 crore, of which Rs 929 crore has been paid. 787 crores worth of wheat hafet, which distributed Rs 579 crore. HWC purchased wheat worth Rs 61 crore, of which Rs 59 crore has been transferred to farmers’ accounts.

Anil Kumar, the district food and supplies controller (DFSC), said, “The government is paid after reaching the shares of wheat in the government codeons. We have taken about 84 percent of wheat and the remaining lift is expected to be completed in a few days. After this, the trapped allowances will be completed. However, farmers and trade unions refuse to accept this purity.

Economic crisis

PKU (Sir Sotu Ram) spokesperson Bahadur Mehla said the government has promised to pay a timely payment, but has not paid after being issued in the warehouse. He said this was the responsibility of traffic, workers or storage agencies. In such a situation, farmers should not be disturbed. Officials mislead the farmers by connecting the fee to the lifting. The fee must be done immediately. Mehla said the delay faces severe financial pressure on farmers. They need immediate money to prepare for their next crop rotation.

In Haryana, government has registered 66 per cent wheat purchased by companies. 34 percent still lying in cereal mandas. According to official data, 67,46,244 metric (MT) wheat has been registered this season this season. Of these, 64,15,828 have been purchased by government agencies. Of the total purchase, 42,78,111 metric tonnes, ie 66 percent of wheat.
