Over the past several years, India has been the number one milk production. Last year, in 2024, the country produced 24 million tonnes of milk. Milk production is increasing at 6.4 percent

In 2021-22, the availability of individual milk reached 444 grams a day. At the same time, this figure is 459 grams per day in 2022-23. India tops 459 grams based on personal milk. Today, more than eight million farmers in the country are getting direct employment by joining the milk industry. India contributes 24 percent today in the world’s milk production. In the last 10 years, milk production in the country has increased by about 52 percent. In 2014-15, milk production was 14.6 million tonnes, which increased to 24 million tonnes in 2023-24.
