Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is making a major effort in the food and drug protection sector. After Lucknow and Meerut in the state, microbial laboratories have also been set up in major districts such as Varanasi, Kanpur, Mirzapur, Bareli and Aligarh. These laboratories will not only make the quality of food and drugs for scientific examination, but also make quick and accurate action in public health matters. Rekha Singh Chauhan, Special Secretary of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, said the work of the Microbiology Laboratory built in Varanasi has been completed and the operations will be launched from May 31. This will prove to be a milestone for ancient consequences because now the citizens of this region do not have to depend on other cities or forkojs, other cities or states relating to investigations.
Microbiological laboratory installation
In addition, the FSSIA (Indian Food Safety and Standard Authority) has been approved for the establishment of a similar status -Art Microbiology Laboratory in Kanpur, Mirzapur, Bareilly and Aligarh. The tender process is underway and the construction work will begin soon. The Department is aimed at being fully active in these districts by March 2026. Through these laboratories, scientific examination of fruits, vegetables, milk, yogurt, cheese, spices and bacteria, viruses, microdoxins and fungi can be scientific. Similarly, the purity and effectiveness of the drug can be tested in these laboratories. This will increase the state’s self -confidence capacity with storage time.

Duplicate food and drug control
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a clear view that food and drug testing laboratories should be established in every section of Uttar Pradesh, so that the government’s zero tolerant policy can be completely active. In this direction, after working in Lucknow and Meerut, they are now expanded in other districts. This effort of the Chief Minister will not only concern public health, but also to ensure the control of fake food and medical products and increases public confidence in the quality of health services. Furthermore, the reports obtained from these laboratories are legally valid so that useful action can be taken for food safety complaints.
Food safety and public health infrastructure
This attempt by the Uttar Pradesh government is in line with the central government’s “facilitating business” and “strong public hygiene”. From a technical point of view, the establishment of these microbiological laboratories will provide a new speed to the state’s scientific infrastructure. By improving food and pharmaceutical management in the state, the government moves towards providing a safe and quality life to citizens, on the other hand, this effort makes Uttar Pradesh the national model of the Food Security and Public Health Infrastructure.
