A small village is located on the border of Joginder Nagar and Padar Sambivan in Himachal Pradesh. The specialty of this village is that only 14 families live here. It is understood that this is a great example of change in agriculture. The special thing is that until a few years ago, there was a tendency of agriculture based on chemical components in the village.

This change has occurred in the village

The change began in Kadar when the women of the village took the initiative to learn the nuances of natural farming. Inspired by his success, the entire village gradually accepted chemical free farming. Rajni Devi, who lives in Kathar, Nizardhar’s website said, “We trained in natural farming four years ago. In the first year, we tried it as an experiment, and the results are going to increase our excitement. According to Rajni Devi, inspired by this victory, agriculture was taken forward in all sectors. Today, it is a matter of pride that Khadar has been recognized as a great village for natural farming.

Which crops grow farmers

Currently, Katar’s farmers grow eight hectares of land using natural farming systems such as wheat, barley, maize, peas, potatoes, soybeans, Rajma and ragi. Villagers say that this method is very useful, in which agriculture is mainly dependent on cow dung and cow urine. These things are easily available because each house is a own cow. The state government has recently increased the minimum support price (MSP) for maize and wheat, and has doubled their happiness. Due to this increase, there is a smile on the faces of the farmers.

Government financial aid

Rajni Devi thanked the government and said that maize is available at Rs. Natural agriculture is not only durable, but also more beneficial. Lalit Kumar, the Volume Technical Manager of the ATMA program in the Trangle, said that Khadar village has officially declared the best village for natural farming. About 3,376 farmers in the Trangle Development constituency have now adopted natural farming systems, he said. The government is providing necessary assistance to promote this standard model.

About 14 lakhs aid so far

Government -offered promotions include purchase of native cows, construction of mosheets, buying plastic drums, and providing seeds to crops such as wheat, peas, soybeans, black grams, ragi and photo in the file. Authorities say 75 per cent of the purchase of plastic drums is received. Of this, about 1,500 farmers have already provided financial assistance of Rs 13.35 lakh.
