The animal entered a residential complex near the Nairóbi National Park on Saturday evening (19) after it jumped a temporary fence. CNN.
Then the lioness entered a house and attacked the girl, who was inside with a second teenager. “There is no evidence of provocation from the victims,” said Udoto.

The agency added that both attacks emphasize the need for “continuous investment in mitigating the conflict between humans and wildlife – through strategic interventions and early warning systems and enhancing cooperation with affected societies.”

Udoto added that KWS suspected that the lioness was confused or converted from natural hunting behavior due to the scarcity of prey to its natural arrival and increasing human activity around the park.
The elephant, in turn, attacked the victim after entering the forest to the cattle. “Human activity was the one that invaded the animal distribution area and created conditions for the conflict,” said Udoto.
The agency said: “KWS transmits their sincere condolences to mourning for families and continues to work closely with the police authorities and local communities to increase the safety of people who live near wildlife protected areas,” the agency said.
Black and elephant attacks are relatively rare, but can occur in isolated areas near national gardens and hunting reserves.
Udoto said that lions attacks are less than 2 % of all reported accidents that include humans and wild animals. Udoto added that the incidents related to the elephant are more common and tend to occur during dry stations, when animals migrate in search of water and food and find agricultural lands or settlements.
