“By judging prisoners and returning peace to Ukraine.” With this title, it was held in front of the Santa Sophia Cathedral from the Ukrainian capital, the emotional and mobile rituals that commemorate the painful journey of Jesus, which is heading to steel.

To a prayer, from the ecumenical significance, the old war prisoners, the injured and the relatives of the missing soldiers attended. The Apostolic Nonio Rituals, Archbishop Vivallas Colboukas, who informed the Vatican media of the importance of this initiative.

Monsignor Kulbokas, how did this prayer moment arise and what is its meaning at this historical moment?

It was a very emotional initiative, organized by the “International Women’s Movement for Family Values”. All families of this war have a war prisoner, a war prisoner, a former prisoner, an injured person, or a person in the foreground.

“So, most families were found, even if they were looking for them, in the war. This movement was organized as an ecumenism, which was for me a beautiful moment. In addition to beautiful, it was also important because it was about the former cathedral in Santa Sofia de Kiev, a national haven for Ukraine, representatives of the various churches that were collected. This event brought together the people who wanted to accompany mothers and wives, who suffer from the loss of their loved ones at the forefront or who were injured and wounded in their family in their families. They were all among the people who wanted to start the holy week with Jesus in prayer, join their own experience, and their special pain for Jesus, as well as joining their prayers in an ecumenical way.

What does this prayer mean?

I was already exciting for me to know that this initiative was present, but after that, when it was achieved, I moved to crying because the texts of all the ruling stations through people who live in their skin are an experience that they share with the suffering of Jesus. For example, during the first station, the sentence, which carries the cross and read the reflection as a former prisoner of war, was distorted from one leg and arm.

“The second station, when Jesus takes the cross, I read the wife of an old prisoner, because every wife, because every wife, every mother, is suffering, a cross. The death station of Jesus was read by a military doctor, who often sees the dead war in the foreground.”

In this sense, I thought in my heart that when we have such experiences in our lives that already resemble the passion of Jesus, then we join our experience of Jesus, or at least we try to unite in prayer, for me this is the best.

Indeed, this human and spiritual aspect – both United – was really to cry. I think we rarely see a cross through which those who read the text, and in fact not only those who read, but all who participate, and there were more than a hundred, I think it may be two hundred or three hundred people, all of whom attend a cross via Crucis Cry.

“So this crying for the war joined the cry of Jesus. This was the prayer that we gave together to seek peace, and he asked to liberate all the prisoners and that their families were comfortable.”

What does it mean for people who have suffered a lot to participate in the suffering of Jesus?

He united by faith in the experience of one and cries with Jesus. I think the personal experience in these cases helps to understand, at least in part, Jesus’ passion.

“They say many Sufis, and there are many certificates in this sense of patients. But after that, when we face suffering in our skin, with faith, it becomes a blessing.”

Another aspect is that there, at the time, there is no need to expect anyone more necessarily to understand me or to be with me because I live the cross, the cross with me. At that moment, I am with God. This is grace.

What do you think that all confessions this year enter together during the holy week and celebrate Easter on the same day?

The fact that Easter this year, according to the main calendars – Gregory and Julian – falls on the same date, has greatly facilitated things. It is a pleasure for me, and I can see it in the faces of many of my Catholic brothers, as well as my Orthodox brothers and Protestants. It is a pleasure to live together.

In fact, during this ruling prayer, in addition to the intentions related to prisoners and peace, he also had this intention in the heart: He also prayed for Pope Francis and the Lord to give us a blessing to find a way to unify as soon as possible to celebrate Easter in all Christian churches and societies.
