India is looking for ways to increase fertilizer imports from the US to reduce its dependence on countries like China and reduce trade inequality. Officials have said that India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, China, Morocco and the United States import the highest fertilizer, which are the top five exporters. In the last financial year, fertilizer imports from Russia fell by 11.18 per cent to $ 1.84 billion. The number was worth $ 2.07 billion in 2023-24.
Imports from China declined to $ 0.88 billion in 2024-25. By 2023-24, the imports were worth $ 2.25 billion, which means declined by 61.13 per cent. Imports from the United States fell 27 percent in 2024-25 to $ 0.029 billion. At the same time, it was $ 0.039 billion in 2023-24.
The US has expressed concern over the difference between India, IE imports and exports. India’s exports to the United States increased by 11.6 per cent in the last fiscal year to $ 86.51 billion. At the same time, it was $ 77.52 billion in 2023-24. In 2024-25, imports rose 7.44 per cent to $ 45.33 billion. At the same time, it was $ 42.2 billion in 2023-24.
Business negotiations between the two countries
In the last financial year, trade surplus IE trade with the United States reached $ 41.18 billion. In 2023-24, it was $ 35.32 billion. India and the United States speak in the bilateral trade agreement to increase bilateral trade by 2030. Due to this growing surplus, the US announced a huge fee on April 2 against several countries, including India. However, the fee on India has been suspended until July 9. Currently, the two countries speak in the trade agreement.

At the same time, in 2024-25, exports from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Morocco increased 32.4 per cent, 54.93 per cent and 32.91 per cent respectively. It increased to $ 1.48 billion, $ 1.07 billion and $ 0.81 billion. In 2023-24, imports from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Morocco were $ 1.12 billion, $ 0.69 billion and $ 0.61 billion.
