In the modern era, there has been a revolutionary change in the field of agriculture with the help of science and technology. The production of crops has increased by using seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, modern irrigation systems and machinery of advanced varieties. But, at the discretion of high production, farmers use indiscriminate chemical fertilizers in the fields, as they are decreasing the fertility of the fields. With this in mind, the government raises awareness for farmers to conduct soil testing, causing the fertility of the fields. In this chapter
This year, the state government has set a goal of creating free soil quality testing and soil health card for farmers. Farmers can send soil samples of their fields to volume and district level soil test centers.
Three lakhs of soil samples will be investigated
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said three lakh soil samples would be investigated in Bihar under the “Soil Health and Fertility Program” under the Central Funded Mantra Mantra National Agricultural Development Program. After this, soil health cards will be issued to farmers. He said the project is an important step for the farmers to know about the scientific use of the farmers and the scientific use of fertilizer.
Soil testing is required for fertility power
The Deputy Chief Minister, through the soil health card, will get information about the nutrients in the soil of their fields so that they can use fertilizers to suit the amount of fertilizer on the card. This will not only reduce agricultural costs but also increase yields. The income of the farmers will be improved. Nowadays, it is very important for farmers to test their soil.
Many soil samples have been accumulated so far
Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said a total of 11,841 soil samples have been deposited so far in the financial year 2025-26. All of these models will be checked through different soil test laboratories. Moreover, in all the panchayats of the state, the work of the nation will be done on the basis of a hectares, so that all farmers in the area can provide soil health cards.
