In 2024-25, farmers bought 655.94 lakh tonnes of manure

In the financial year of 24-25 in the country, the consumption of chemical fertilizers has been registered by a request in the country, while their sales have been recorded by 9 per cent compared to last year. Total sales of fertilizer were registered at 655.94 lakh tonnes, which is the highest level. The offering of fertilizers such as the Dye-Amonian phosphate (DAP), Morad of potash (MOP) and complex has been so improved in purchases. In the last financial year, urea’s sales were seen in the previous financial year. By 2024-25, 387.92 lakh tonnes were sold, formerly registered at 357.81 lakh tonnes of 2023-24 urea.

According to the Business Line report, Mood of potash sales (MOP) recorded an increase of 33.9 per cent, increasing 16.44 lakh tonnes to 22.02 lakh tonnes. The complex fertilizer sales have increased by 28.2 per cent, and it has increased from 116.8 lakh tonnes to 149.72 lakh tonnes. However, DAP sales recorded a major decline, which fell from 109.74 lakh tonnes to 96.28 lakh tonnes. The decline in DAP sales was due to lack of supply in mid -November 2024.

At the same time, the total sales of fertilizers were registered in the fiscal year 2024-25 at 655.94 lakh tonnes, which is the highest level. In the financial year 2023-24, the sale of fertilizer was 600.79 lakh tonnes. In this way, this has increased by 9.2 percent. Earlier, in 2020-21, a record sales of 621.91 lakh tonnes were recorded at the time of Govid infection.

Registered slopes in demand

At the same time, the demand for MOP and complex fertilizer requirements has been reduced by 1 percent. The demand for MOP is estimated to be 22.21 lakh tonnes and the campus. At the same time, when importing fertilizers, the center controlled the urea from April to March 2024-25.

Earlier, imports in 2023-24 were 70.42 lakh tonnes, which fell 19.8 per cent of imports controlled urea. Earlier, in the fiscal year 2020-21, the center imported 98.28 lakh tonnes of urea, which was a record. Due to the importation of various fertilizers, the result is that the cost of the central government subsidy has declined.
