The Haryana government has recently made a major decision in keeping with the groundwater level in the Panipat district. Farmers here cannot sow paddy before June 15. If farmers do not accept the government’s order or try to break it, they will be severely punished. The Deputy Collector of Panipat (DC) has made a big decision. Paddy is also sown in Haryana near Punjab from June 15. But some farmers of Panipat are reportedly preparing to sow paddy crops.
What action is in breaking the order
Panipat’s DC, Virendra Tahia, has recently provided clear steps on the sowing of paddy. They have made it clear that if paddy is planted before the appropriate date, strict action will be taken. The DC said that any farmer would be fined for violating the order and his crop would be destroyed. Also, the cost of destroying the crop will be charged from the farmer.
The administration made a complete product
The administration has made full arrangements to prevent paddy cultivation. The jewelery committees of the village secretary, Patwari and the agricultural officer have been formed. These teams will go with the police and examine the fields. If a farmer is diagnosed with paddy before June 15, his crop will be destroyed immediately. The Agriculture Department has formed special committees at the level of the Division. These teams will ensure that the directive has not been violated anywhere. This entire process will be monitored at the district level.
Groundwater Crisis in Haryana
Like the Punjab, the ground water level in Haryana continues to fall. Paddy is a crop that requires more water. Planting paddy before time increases water consumption in the summer, which leads to further to the groundwater level. In 2009, the Haryana government implemented the ‘Haryana Sapsoal Water Act’. Under this law, there is a strict prohibition on sowing and transferring paddy before June 15.
Special appeal to farmers
TC According to Virendra Tahiya, paddy is cultivated in about 90 thousand hectares every year in Panipat district. If such a large amount of agriculture starts before time, there will be high pressure in groundwater. He has appealed to the farmers to follow the instructions and follow the instructions. He said ground water is the most wonderful tradition of nature, which is the responsibility of all of us. It is only after June 15 that the DC has been asked to plant paddy in their fields only after June 15, and do not release water under any circumstances before.
