I missed Mexico when I was out

How many times do you go to Mexico and find something new about it?

Mexico is a vibration that is difficult to define in a few words. Sometimes I miss a certain state or a small beach city where I met the colder. Sometimes, this is my hotel’s Dakveeria. I was traveling from my board. After I spoke with him in Spanish, the seller who waived a volcanic rock bracelets. But often, this is the feeling that I have when I sink into Mexican culture.

After I came home from Mexico in early 2025, I was thinking about the differences I had noticed between the parts of Mexico and the place where I live in Canada.

I have gone to Mexico and I consider it a part -time local. A man between two worlds. Since my first article on this topic sent a lot of readers from a wonderful point of view on Mexico, I thought I should not continue the conversation?

Neighborhood centers that feel like a house from home

In Canada, most entrepreneurs who open a caby or restaurant are the dream owner. Excessive amounts are obviously more profitable. But the problem is the quality control. One owner may perform your menu and opinion justice and the other may fail in a simple health inspection test.

From McDonald to pizza hut, tunnel, Burger King and Tim Hardon, at least a few owners cannot go to any neighborhood in Mantriel. There is only an Italian cafe in my area that has proven to be a unique neighbor. This made me think about all the cafes and tactors I was in Mexico.

When I was inside Playa Dell CarmenI met many big cafes and restaurants, and last year I wrote a part of the last year. Mexico city, as I learned on a meal tour.

I have gone to six Mexican states (and counts!), There are enough cafes and restaurants to choose to differentiate each other everywhere I went. But these places are also rated for their situation. You meet friends at these local neighboring centers. You can work in the distance. You go even on dates, play card games, watch the games. They are the places where they know you with the name or face, in which there is comfort. This is more than a transaction exchange.

My Spanish training every day

I often speak English in Canada when I don’t speak with my Latin American friends on my Mexican mother, family members or WhatsApp. Every time I return from Mexico, it takes me some time to repair my normal custom. When I say “Good Morning” or I am saying “Bunus Diaz” to my colleagues. “Hello, what’s Fart Wee?” To friends, I said, “Hey, what’s up, colleague?”

But in the end, I start thinking again in English or French. Naturally, it is difficult to maintain the spanish size almost fluent. For many years, I will go a step further on my Spanish journey and return two steps.

I feel close to my Mexican family whenever I speak in their own language. It also empowers to go to English in Mexico. Taxi drivers and vendors in the markets are more likely to respect you and are less likely to tear you. I have received a discount, friendly with the locals, I also gave a job at Puerto Escondo (if I have a proper background as a bar).

It is not one thing to communicate at home in Spanish. Although Canada has welcomed a large number of people from Mexico and Latin America in the last decade, I am a temporary solution that Tacos did not eat a Mexico City Food Stall The Nation’s League is talking about.

Watching games with Mexican commentators

When I was last in Mexico, it was NFL playoffs. When I watched a few games in bars, I reminded me of how funny the professional game with my uncles and Mexican commentators was.

On that journey, I saw some football matches, as I was in Mexico. I become a big football fan than at home. For many years, I encouraged Poomas, Pachuka and Club Amika when Killermo Ochova was present.

I don’t know that I am, but Mexican commentators have invested more at the end of games than American and Canadian researchers. Even if you are not a sports fan, you feel that their energy is going through the screen, and get stuck in the emotions of the game.

National pride during the holidays

You can’t help me about the way Mexican loves Mexico, but not to love. (Krisanda Espinosa Aciler/Quartoskoro)

I will never forget my first week in Okshaka. It was not my first time to enjoy its culture and food, but I landed there at the end of Valentine’s Day.

In Canada, Valentine’s Day is an excuse for people to bring flowers and chocolates to their significant others. But in Okshaka, a great excuse for everyone to celebrate love. From Manmadhan’s signature to the street dinner in Chocalo, everywhere in the Towntown Center of Oksaka, there was love in the air that you were single or married.

Christmas, the day of death and carnaval (Especially if you are in Masadel Or Varakruz) I have learned for many years that Mexican is not new to dance all night. But it is interesting to note that 5000 other traditional holidays and events are celebrated in Mexico every year.

This makes Mexico a little more healthy and fun. It is not possible to say how many holidays will be added to the list in the coming years, as it is still in my bucket on my bucket list for the day of death.

What do you miss about Mexico?

Knowing that there may be some time until I return to Mexico, I dream of daylight about the little and big things I missed about being in my second house.
