On Sunday, following her starting mass in St. Peters Basilica in Vatican, Mexico’s Interior Minister Rosa Eyesela Rodrigues invited Pope Leo XIV to visit Mexico on behalf of President Claudia Shaybam.

Mass saw state leaders from all over the world and official representatives of many countries.

Rodriguez wrote in his official X account, “From St. Peters Basilica, Pope Leo XIV President Claudia Shinebam and Mexico have congratulated the people, and shows that he greets the Pope and gifted an image of our Lady of Quadalup.

Shinbam had announced his desire to invite Pope to Mexico ahead of the journey to the Rodrigas Vatican.

“The Home Minister will go to the Vatican, where we will give a letter to the Vatican. If you can see him (Pope), it is correct.

Speaking from the Vatican, Rodriguez illustrates the unity of the “poor” attitude towards the new Pope and Mexico’s current administration. He recognized Pope Leo XIV’s social work, his commitment to supporting the diaspora, and his closeness with the tribal people of Latin America.

Rodricks also celebrated the bond between Leo XIV and Pope Francis. “There will be a continuation of unity in support of marginalized, immigrants and the most supporters of the world,” he predicted. “Leo XIV will be a pope. He will become a friend of Mexico people.”

Cardinal Robert Prevost, who selected the pope under the name of Leo XIV on May 8, participated in the new pope -selected conference: Guadalajara’s Archbishop, Francisco Robils and Archbishop of Mexico will arrive.
