When the papal establishment helps the needy church (ACN) in planning the jubilee pilgrimage to Rome from May 7 to 10, the organizers did not imagine that it would coincide with the election of the new Pope. In the first words of peace and hope in Liu XIV, they felt rapprochement in their mission, which is to help Christians who are persecuting all over the world and remembering the martyrs.
During these days, the pilgrims managed to cross the holy door and listen to the testimonies of people who live in areas affected by religious persecution and moments of prayer and remembering. How did you live these days?
It was an unusual pilgrimage in the true sense of the word. We had the opportunity, at the end of the opening bloc at the Hajj, on Thursday afternoon, to listen to the “Habemus Papam” ad.
We feel very close to our mission, the first words that Leo XIV announced in its sermon yesterday morning with the Cardinals. This pilgrimage was built from our size on the date prescribed for Jobeel to celebrate new witnesses of faith, on May 9.

This is true, when he talked about “disappearance” to leave a space for the image of Christ. This is what we also imagine when listening to testimonies about the martyrs of the twenty -first century. We toured this specifically via Crucis, on the anniversary of the new martyrs, which, however, ended with a resurrection station.
The help of the needy church is an institution dedicated to all the memory of the martyrs and the support of the church that suffers in the world, but always with a vision of hope. With his words, the Pope accompanied us during these two days. The fact that Ave Maria prayed in her first speech to people, immediately after her choice, affected us a lot and felt very close. Today we are in Santa Maria no, where we will participate in the mass that we will renew our dedication to the Virgin Mary.
How do you encourage them in your mission the subject of this holy year, focus on hope?
The pilgrimage is entitled “Witnesses of Hope”, which combine the topic of the jubilee with the martyrs of the martyrs. Through our work, we realize that they are specifically these people who suffer, who are in the line of confrontation in the situations where the Church is persecuted in, those who give hope in many beneficiaries and many people who support them in Europe and in the world, in a network of the company that is moving in a double direction. There is a company for the church in which those who offer many witnesses of hope at the same time receive.
