On the first day of Jonathan Messias Santos Da Silva, 33, the defendant was distinguished by the death of Ballness fans Gabriella Anili by eight witnesses, on Monday (19). Gabriella, 23, died at the time, after she was hit around her neck with a glass bottle while confusion between fans of Mamino near Allianz Park, in Sao Paulo, on July 8, 2023.
Initially, 10 witnesses were called, but two were eventually rejected (one of the prosecution and one of the defense). Among them is Yuri Batista da Silva, the fans who were next to Gabriella while she was injured.
The first part of the session was certificates of four prosecution witnesses. The first statement was the expert expert Lendro Lopes Dos Santos.
The defense assumed the defendant’s innocence position and that it was not possible to prove the material importance of the crime based on the experience report. The expert showed, based on the synchronization of videos filmed by both fans, as it was possible to reach the possibility that Jonathan was responsible.
In the afternoon and early, after a break, the four defense witnesses were heard.
Among them is the delegate of Daniel Jose Urosumarzo, who answered the case a day and arrested Leonardo Felipe as Zavier Santiago after Yuri’s testimony. Later, Leonardo was released for not being convicted that he threw the bottle that hit him and killed the young woman.
Then it was the role of Mario Alves, the security that closed the gate that separated the masses and where it hit the bottle before hitting Gabriella. It is reported that the bottle came from Flamengo fans, but it cannot be determined by what he called.
Finally, Patrício Eduardo Lamos Serpa, the expert who hired the defendant’s family, talked about two video clip linked to the process and analyzed by an artistic opinion.
The defendant was expected to be heard later this Monday, but Judge Isadorra Moro suspended the session because of the time:
“I think everyone is very tired, both jury and family members, we will close here,” he said.
On Tuesday (20), the jury will appeal at 8:30 am, with the defendant interrogation. Then there will be a discussion between claim and defense.
