Rorre McLeroiThe current number 2 in the world has revealed that it faces a correct elbow injury while preparing to compete in the Master next week in Augusta, USA.
He said in an interview with NBC SPORTS:
Mcilroy chose not to play Texas Valero Open this week, gained time to rest and adjust the change he made in his driver after the third round of Houston.
“I took a little top role. I felt that the ball was taking a little more than I would, especially in the discounts from the starting point, so I modified it. Today I cut the wind better and felt more comfortable,” he said.
Even with injury, Mcilroy achieved another good result after fighting in Houston. T5 adds to its victories and T4 in Dubai, among the first eight games in the 2025 season.
However, one of the north of Sandel admitted that his game is not the ideal level to search for the desired green jacket.
“I still feel I have things to improve. My game is not under 100 % control as I would like, but I have a week to work on it,” he said. “My coach, Michael Bannon arrives on Monday, so let’s train at home and make sure my game is sharp for a master’s degree.”
Masters is the only missing pioneer in Milcroy curricula, which was the last title SAM Grand 11 years ago in the 2014 PGA championship.
Last year, he ended up drawing on 22, after not passing in Ugusta in 2023. In 2022, he was second behind Scotti Shevler.
“Now is the focus on feeling comfortable as possible with the adjustments I made, especially in the game of iron and pegs,” said Mackeoy.
“The short game is very important in Ugusta, so I will work on it in the coming days to reach the tournament,” said the golf player.
