From Sprinkler to Tiller, buy everything cheap … government pays half the money subsidy

The Madhya Pradesh government is providing many assistance to farmers with different irrigation systems. These include sprinkler sets, drops, pump set (diesel/electric), pipeline set and shower gun systems. Based on the type and landscapes of the farmer, the subsidy is given from 40 to 55 per cent. The government has sought applications under the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Irrigation Scheme for various projects such as National Foreign Oil Sea, National Food Safety Pulses and Micro Irrigation Scheme.

The purpose of this project is to improve irrigation throughout the state, reduce water waste and achieve better yields and prolonged agricultural systems for farmers.

Subsidy over 6 crores

According to a report, more than Rs 6 crore has been given to drip and sprayer irrigation in Madhya Pradesh. 1,870 farmers in Karkon have benefited from this project. The irrigation system saves up to 50-70 % of the water, which increases crop yields. The subsidy includes pump set, shower guns and pipeline set. Of these, up to 55 per cent of the purchase of irrigation systems is given to the farmers by the government. In addition, farmers can take a subsidy for plowing farm.

The state government promotes farmers to use sprayers and drops rather than traditional irrigation techniques. These modern systems can save up to 70 percent of the water, which can irrigate even large areas with low water. This project alone has benefited 1,870 farmers in the Karkon district, in which a total of Rs.6.14 crore has been given for the sprayer and drip irrigation.
