With an important effort, the Maharashtra Cabinet granted agricultural status to the fisheries sector on Tuesday. It is believed that the fishermen will receive the same facilities and concessions to the farmers. This decision will benefit fishermen and fishermen who can claim water, electricity and other basic amenities. State Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane has described this move by the Cabinet as a ‘historical and revolutionary’. 4,83,000 fishermen will benefit from this, he said.
Fishermen will also be subsidized
Nitesh Rane said that Maharashtra has the ability to produce adequate production and income as traditional agriculture in the fisheries sector in Maharashtra. Due to the lack of agricultural status, fishermen, water-restrictions and fish spinach have lost many basic amenities and benefits. Rane said that the decision would strengthen the rural economy as fishermen get many basic amenities and subsidies.
Crop Insurance Benefits!
Nitesh Rane said there would be a significant increase in fish production in the state. Farmers subsidize seeds, tractors, plows and fertilizers. Similarly, fishermen will now get a subsidy to buy fish seeds, forage, paddle-wheelchair and air pump. He said that this decision has allowed fish parents and water stars to request crop insurance for farmers, such as crop insurance to compensate for the loss of fish seeds and production.
Increase income
Naish Rane said that if there are natural disasters such as drought or heavy rain, they will receive the same relief package of a government relief package given to the farmers. He said the economic development of the coastal and domestic areas would be promoted by providing the status of agriculture to the aquarium. Jobs will arise and increase income. Fishermen are now recognized as agricultural farmers. Therefore, they will be subsidized on electricity charges.
Increase fish production
Rane added that fish parents, fisheries development programs, relevant factories and processing units will be available at agricultural rate. The Minister said, “Fisheries farmers will qualify for credit cards, loans from banks at agricultural rate and insurance at the farm rate at subsidized rates. He said the Fisheries Department contributes significantly to foreign exchange income and protein for the country.
Like agriculture, Fisheries in Maharashtra will also bring strong production and income, Nitesh Rane said. Fishermen will get electric subsidy, farmer credit card, loan in agricultural rate, concession insurance and equipment subsidy, which will increase fish production.
