Farmers’ fire on farmers, a fine of 14 lakhs and a warning to send

The Indore district administration of Madhya Pradesh has imposed a fine of Rs.13.68 lakh on many farmers. On Wednesday, an officer has this information. In the last four days, 668 burning cases have been registered in the district, the official said. However, farmers’ organizations have objected to the move and demand any other organization.

Officially, the administration has issued a ban under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense 2023. “The order has been issued to prevent the damage caused by the burning of the environment, common people and animals, and burns the bomb.”

The official said that a case would be filed against those who violate the ban orders under Section 223 of the Indian Code (ignoring the orders issued by the public servant). Under this rule, criminals can be fined up to a year or Rs 5,000 or both.

Farmers’ organizations have objected to the heavy fines imposed on farmers. In the Malwa-Nimmer region of West Madhya Pradesh, United Kisan Morcha’s convener Ram Swarup said, “We believe it is wrong to burn straw in the fields, but in such cases it is unreasonable for farmers to suddenly pay more fines.” He demanded that the officials of the Agriculture Department go to the villages and make alternative arrangements to destroy the stems of the remaining plants in the field.
