US billionaire Elon Musk said on Saturday that he hopes to see in the future a complete freedom of trade between the United States and Europe, and speaks days after US President Donald Trump announced a commercial tariff about business partners.

Musk, Trump’s advisor, who was working to reject thousands of civil service employees, spoke through a video call in Florence to the Right Party and the Joint Court of Italy.

Musk said: “At the end of the day, I hope that it will be agreed that both Europe and the United States should move perfectly, in my opinion, to a zero tariff, which creates effectively a free trade zone between Europe and North America.”

According to Trump’s plans announced on Wednesday, Italy, which has a large trade surplus with the United States, will undergo a general rate of 20 %, along with other European Union countries.

The league leader Matteo Salvini, Musk, who has repeatedly expressed his support for the right parties across Europe, said he also expects to see more freedom of movement between Europe and the United States.

“If people want to work in Europe or North America, they should be allowed to do so, in my opinion,” Musk said, adding that “this was certainly my advice to the president.”

Musk, who was in the past near the direct prime minister in Italy, Georgia Meloni and his brothers in the Italian party, also expressed his support for the Salvini League. Both groups have an extremist right -wing agenda based on irregular migration suppression.

Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giogeletti, a league, said early Saturday that the government wanted to “reduce climbing” with the United States after the announcement of the Trump tariff, and warned against imposing revenge definitions.

Last month, Musk expressed his gratitude to Silvini after the league president said that Italy should choose Starlink for satellite communication system.
