After the second round of the presidential elections in Ecuador, which was held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, the country’s episcopal conference in the country was the participation of millions of citizens, who lived today “with patriotism and civil.”

In a letter issued by the Presidency Council in the Episcopal, the bishops realized the value of the vote expressed by both the Ecuadorian and emphasized that the decisions taken in opinion polls must respect and assume responsibility and rise by those who were elected.

“It is time to honor dreams, hopes and rights of all Ecuadorians,” says the text, which also calls for the winning judgment to control the inclusion and sensitivity, with the realization of the country’s diversity.

In the context of political tension, the Church invites a firm invitation to avoid all forms of violence, whether in words or actions. And he affirms that the true democratic authority lies in the vote, and that mature democracy continues on the modest and brave acceptance of the results. The bishop recalls: “Only the civil sound of opinion polls can decide the future of the country.”

The message acquires a special meaning through synchronization with Ramos on Sunday, on the day that thousands of believers gathered in different churches in the country to pray for peace. Within this framework, shepherds emphasize that peace is not just an arrest, but a shared responsibility, which must be based on the foundations of truth, justice and freedom.

Finally, before announcing eleven irreversible by the National Electoral Council, which gives victory to the ventricles formed by Daniel Nuboa Azn and Maria Jose Pinto, the bishops urged all social and political forces to add efforts to work, along with the new authorities, in building ecuador for them.

In a message before the elections, the bishops called for an ethical and emotional dialogue with those who think differently and asked not to fall into the temptation to distribute the authority or search for predecessor in exchange for votes, but for a “comprehensive” practice, which contemplates all sectors of society. They also argued that it is necessary for the new rulers to bear their role in the spirit of service, without comprehensive Christians or the intention to perpetuate themselves in power.
